Navigating the SpotCharge Dashboard

Dashboard Overview

Your SpotCharge dashboard is your central hub for managing your account, locations, and activity. This guide walks you through the main sections and how to navigate efficiently.

Accessing Your Dashboard

After signing in, click "Dashboard" in the top navigation menu or visit /dashboard.

First-time users: Complete your profile setup before exploring other dashboard features.

Dashboard Layout

The dashboard uses a left sidebar navigation with main content area:

Sidebar Navigation (Desktop):

• Dashboard Home
• My Locations (Location Owners only)
• Favorites
• Reviews
• Subscription (Location Owners only)
• Account Settings

Mobile: Tap the menu icon (☰) to access navigation.

Dashboard Sections Explained

1. Dashboard Home

What you'll see:

• Quick stats overview
• Recent activity feed
• Notifications
• Quick action buttons

For Drivers:

• Favorite locations count
• Reviews written
• Recent activity (favorites added, reviews posted)

For Location Owners:

• Total claimed locations
• Photo count
• Reviews received this month
• Subscription tier status
• Quick actions: Add location, upload photos, respond to reviews

2. My Locations (Owners Only)

Access: Sidebar → "My Locations" or "Sites"

What you'll see:

• List of all claimed locations
• Verification status (badges)
• Quick stats per location
• Action buttons (Edit, Photos, View Public Page)

Key Actions:

• Add New Location: Claim existing or add new station
• View Location: See public-facing listing
• Edit Details: Update hours, pricing, amenities
• Manage Photos: Upload/delete photos
• View Analytics: Track views and favorites

Switching Between Locations: Use the location dropdown if you manage multiple stations.

3. Favorites

Access: Sidebar → "Favorites"

What you'll see:

• All charging stations you've favorited
• Station name, address, connector types
• Last updated date
• Quick links to station pages

Actions:

• View Station: Click card to see full details
• Remove Favorite: Click heart icon to unfavorite
• Get Directions: External link to maps

Pro Tip: Organize favorites by creating lists (Premium feature coming soon).

4. Reviews

Access: Sidebar → "Reviews"

For Drivers:

• Reviews you've written
• Edit or delete your reviews
• See response from station owners

For Location Owners:

• Reviews received for your stations
• Filter by location
• Respond to reviews (based on tier limits)
• Review analytics (average rating, total count)

Response Limits:

• Free: 1 response/month
• Premium: Unlimited
• Premium Multi: Unlimited

5. Subscription (Owners Only)

Access: Sidebar → "Subscription"

What you'll see:

• Current plan (Free, Premium, Premium Multi)
• Usage stats (locations used, photos uploaded, responses this month)
• Billing information
• Upgrade/downgrade options

Key Actions:

• Upgrade Plan: Access more features
• Manage Billing: Update payment method
• View Invoices: Download past invoices
• Cancel Plan: Downgrade to Free

6. Account Settings

Access: Sidebar → "Account Settings" or profile dropdown → "Settings"

Sections:

Profile Information:

• Display name
• Email address
• Profile photo
• Bio (for review attribution)

Account Type:

• Current role (Driver or Location Owner)
• Upgrade to Owner option (for Drivers)

Notifications:

• Email preferences
• Review notifications
• New favorite notifications
• Monthly summary emails

Privacy:

• Public profile visibility
• Review display name settings

Security:

• Change password
• Two-factor authentication (coming soon)
• Active sessions

Danger Zone:

• Delete account (permanent action)

Dashboard Quick Actions

Global Search: Use the search bar at top to find locations or help articles.

Notifications Bell: Click bell icon to see notifications:

• New reviews on your stations
• Responses to your reviews
• System announcements
• Subscription updates

Profile Menu: Click your name/photo to access:

• View Public Profile
• Account Settings
• Sign Out

Keyboard Shortcuts (Coming Soon)

• Cmd/Ctrl + K: Open search
• Cmd/Ctrl + D: Go to Dashboard
• Cmd/Ctrl + L: Go to My Locations
• Cmd/Ctrl + F: Go to Favorites

Mobile Dashboard

The mobile dashboard adapts for smaller screens:

Bottom Navigation:

• Home
• Locations/Favorites
• Search
• Profile

Swipe Actions:

• Swipe left on locations to edit
• Swipe right to view public page
• Pull down to refresh data

Tips for Efficient Navigation

1. Bookmark Key Pages:

• Dashboard home: /dashboard
• My locations: /dashboard/sites
• Favorites: /dashboard/favorites

2. Use Browser Back Button: The dashboard respects browser history, so back button works as expected.

3. Quick Location Switcher (Owners): Use the dropdown at top of location pages to switch between your stations without returning to the list.

4. Right-Click for New Tab: Right-click location links to open in new tab while keeping dashboard open.

5. Mobile App (Coming Soon): Download the SpotCharge mobile app for faster dashboard access on the go.

Troubleshooting Dashboard Issues

Page Not Loading:

• Refresh the page (F5 or Cmd+R)
• Clear browser cache
• Try incognito/private browsing mode
• Check internet connection

Missing Features:

• Ensure you're signed in
• Check your account type (Driver vs Owner)
• Verify subscription tier for premium features
• Update browser to latest version

Data Not Updating:

• Click refresh icon or reload page
• Check last updated timestamp
• Contact support if data is stale (>24 hours)
