Subscription Plans Overview

SpotCharge offers three subscription tiers designed for different types of location owners, from individual charger owners to multi-location operators.

Free Tier

Price: $0/month

Best for:

  • Single location owners
  • Testing SpotCharge
  • Home chargers shared with neighbors
  • Small independent operators

  • Growing charging networks

  • Businesses expanding EV infrastructure

Pricing Details

Monthly Billing

How it works:

  • Charged on the 1st of each month
  • Can cancel anytime (no contract)
  • Pro-rated if you upgrade/downgrade mid-month
  • Renews automatically until canceled

Example:

  • Sign up Jan 15 → First charge Jan 15 ($29 Premium)
  • Next charge Feb 1 ($29)
  • Next charge Mar 1 ($29)
  • Cancel Feb 20 → No charge Mar 1

Annual Billing

How it works:

  • Charged once per year
  • Save 2 months (17% discount)
  • Full year commitment
  • Renews automatically until canceled

Savings:

  • Premium: $290/year vs $348 monthly = Save $58
  • Premium Multi: $990/year vs $1,188 monthly = Save $198

Refund policy:

  • Pro-rated refund if you downgrade mid-year
  • Example: Cancel after 6 months on annual → 50% refund

14-Day Free Trial

Available for:

  • Premium tier (new subscribers only)
  • Premium Multi tier (new subscribers only)
  • Not available for Free tier (already free)

How it works:

  1. Sign up for Premium or Premium Multi
  2. Get full access for 14 days
  3. No credit card required (optional)
  4. After 14 days:
    • If you added payment: Auto-converts to paid
    • If no payment: Reverts to Free tier

Trial features:

  • All Premium/Premium Multi features
  • Test with real locations
  • No limits during trial
  • Cancel anytime, no charge

One trial per account - Cannot re-trial after canceling

Choosing the Right Plan

Start with Free if:

✅ You operate a single charging location ✅ You're testing SpotCharge for the first time ✅ You have 3 or fewer charging stations ✅ You don't need many photos or responses ✅ Budget is a constraint

Upgrade when:

  • You add a 2nd location
  • You need more than 3 photos
  • You get more than 3 reviews/month
  • You want custom amenities

Choose Premium if:

✅ You operate 2-3 charging locations ✅ You need detailed documentation (25 photos/location) ✅ You get regular reviews (up to 25/month) ✅ You want professional branding (custom amenities) ✅ You value enhanced analytics and priority support

Upgrade to Premium Multi when:

  • You operate 4-5 locations
  • You have large sites (10+ stations per location)
  • You get 25+ reviews/month
  • You want unlimited photos and responses

Choose Premium Multi if:

How Subscription Limits Work

Location Limits

When you hit your limit:

  • System prevents adding beyond limit
  • Prompts you to upgrade
  • Existing locations remain active

If you downgrade:

  • Choose which locations to keep active
  • Others become "inactive" (hidden from drivers)
  • Can reactivate by upgrading or deleting active ones

Photo Limits

When you hit your limit:

  • Upload button disabled
  • Must delete old photo or upgrade
  • Photos don't count toward limit after deletion

Strategy:

  • Free: Prioritize 3 best photos
  • Premium: Document all key features
  • Premium Multi: Comprehensive visual tour

Response Limits

When you hit monthly limit:

  • Can't respond until next month (1st of month)
  • Prioritize negative/detailed reviews
  • Upgrade for more responses

Limit resets: 1st of each month at 12:00 AM

Payment is:

  • Processed on subscription start date
  • Auto-renewed monthly or annually

Upgrading or Downgrading

Upgrading

Immediate effect:

  • Get new features instantly
  • Pro-rated charge for remainder of month/year
  • New limits apply immediately

Example:

  • Free → Premium on Jan 15
  • Charged $14.50 (half month)
  • Full $29 charge on Feb 1

Downgrading

Takes effect:

  • End of current billing period
  • Keeps paid features until then
  • Choose which resources to keep (if over new limit)

Example:

  • Premium → Free (cancel Jan 15)
  • Keep Premium features until Feb 1
  • Feb 1: Revert to Free tier limits

Canceling Subscription

Free tier:

  • Already free, nothing to cancel
  • Can delete account if desired

Premium/Premium Multi:

  • Cancel anytime in dashboard
  • Keeps features until end of billing period
  • Auto-downgrades to Free tier
  • No refund for unused time (monthly billing)
  • Pro-rated refund (annual billing)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I change plans anytime? A: Yes. Upgrade immediately, downgrade at end of billing period.

Q: What happens if I don't pay? A: Payment failure → Email reminder → 7 days grace → Downgrade to Free tier.

Q: Do I get a refund if I downgrade mid-month? A: No for monthly plans. Pro-rated refund for annual plans.

Q: Can I get more than 5 locations? A: Not currently. Contact sales@spotcharge.io for enterprise options (10+ locations).

Q: Is there a discount for nonprofits/government? A: Yes, 20% off for verified nonprofits and government agencies. Contact support.

Q: Can I pay with invoice/PO? A: Premium Multi annual plans can pay via invoice. Contact sales@spotcharge.io.

Q: What if I cancel my trial? A: No charge. Account reverts to Free tier. Your data remains.

Q: Can I transfer my subscription to someone else? A: Contact support for ownership transfer. Requires verification.

Q: Do prices ever change? A: Your rate is locked for your billing period. New rates apply at next renewal, with 30-day notice.

Start Premium Trial

  1. Go to Dashboard → Subscription
  2. Click "Start 14-Day Premium Trial"
  3. Optionally add payment method (can skip)
  4. Get instant Premium access
  5. Upgrade before trial ends or revert to Free

Upgrade Anytime

  1. Dashboard → Subscription
  2. Click "Upgrade" next to desired tier
  3. Enter payment information
  4. Confirm upgrade
  5. Instant access to new features
